
How does subsidized training work?
Step-by-Step Guide

Each year, companies that contribute to professional training have a specific training credit available to them, which they can use to train their teams at no additional cost. This system, known as company-sponsored training, allows the cost of training courses to be reimbursed through social security contributions, thus promoting the continuous improvement of professional skills within organizations.
Subsidized training is an incentive that rewards companies that invest in the talent of their workforce. This credit, managed through the online platform of FUNDAE (State Foundation for Employment Training ) , is available to all entities that have employees on staff and contribute to professional training.
Each company has an annual allowance, which varies depending on its workforce and social security contributions, and which must be used within the calendar year. If it is not used, the allowance is lost. Therefore, it is essential to anticipate needs, plan properly, and have the support of professionals who can guarantee the correct use of this resource.
What is FUNDAE and who can benefit from it?
FUNDAE is the public body that coordinates, manages, and oversees the subsidized training system in Spain. Through its platform, companies can recover the amount invested in employee training through social security contributions.
This training is aimed at all companies with employees registered under the General Social Security Scheme. Employees themselves may also participate. It does not apply to the self-employed or civil servants, unless they participate as training providers.

How does the bonus process work?

It is determined based on staffing levels and social security contributions; a minimum of €420 for companies with up to 5 employees. At DEGIR, we calculate it for free.
2. Communication to FUNDAE:
We inform you of dates, participants, training entity and modality before the start.
3. Course Implementation:
Face-to-face, online or blended training, minimum 2 hours, linked to the position, with evaluation and diploma.
4. Application of the bonus:
After the course, the company deducts the cost from its social security contributions.
General conditions for training subsidies
The training eligible for funding must meet the following criteria:
Be related to the professional development or job functions of the participant.
To be reported to FUNDAE within the legally established timeframe.
Have the required supporting documentation: attendance records, diplomas, invoices, proof of payment, etc.
Keep the documentation for at least four years, in case of possible inspections or requests.
What happens if the training credit is not used?
The credit is not cumulative and must be used within the calendar year. There is one exception: if the company reserves the credit by notifying FUNDAE before June 30, it can use it in the following year.

What if you are an employee and want to train yourself?
In addition to training managed directly by companies, there is the Individual Training Permit (PIF) , a mechanism that allows any salaried employee to request paid leave of up to 200 working hours to complete official training recognized by the State. This training must be regulated and linked to professional development.
